SHFC Defeats Eagles Lakoseljac Cup
Saturday, 24 July 2010 23:22

SHFC vs New Town Eagles Game was held at Clare Street this weekend in the semi finals of the Milan Lakoseljac Cup while the other remaining two teams Clarence and Burnie played in Burnie.

Before the South game started politics were the order of the day with New Town defender Shane Kent originally not playing because of a five yellow suspension but because FFT had not given the New Town Eagles the required three days' notice so he was in fact in the starting line up.

Week 18 SHFC vs Olympia Warriors
Monday, 19 July 2010 06:45

South Hobart's unbeaten run came to an end today when Olympia Warriors drew 1 - 1. In the past 100 years the best ever run of straight out wins in a row had been 10 wins, this year the boys have won 19 games in a row.

In a game that most would have pre game been predicted an easy win for South it turned out to be an exciting thrilling match with missed chances, and  a lack lustre south performance. What was impressive though was the determination and hunger for the ball by the Warriors. As one of our long time supporters was heard to say "They just wanted the ball so much more than our lads" ringing true for the entire game.

See what the coaches had to say plus some photos.

Week17 SHFC vs Knights
Friday, 09 July 2010 23:15

Team South Seniors had a convincing win over Glenorchy Knights at KGV this evening defeating them 5 - 0.

Playing a three up front formation the Knights played strong football for the first 15 minutes but were unable to maintain the pace and pressure on our lads. Jo Lo and Andy Brenan both scored 2 a piece and Kosta locked one away. In an entertaining 90 minutes there were many highlights for both sides.

Week 16 SHFC vs Lions

This week was important for the Seniors as a win would put the team 16 points clear of all others and would ensure the Premiership Title was South Hobart's for a third year in a row. There was a few changes in this weeks line up with Matt Brown and Shae Hickey both out due to commitments, and Greg Downes moved to Reserves to make way for Nick Cuthbertson to make his debut.

The team sheet was as follows: Sam Kruijver, Liam Scott, Hugh Ludford, Bart Beecroft, Jim Pennicott, Kosta Kanakaris, Tom Roach, Andy Brennan, Andy King (last game) Kaka Wookburn, Jonathon Lo, Kwon Jun, Daniel Brown and Nick Cuthbertson.

Week 14 SHFC vs New Town Eagles
Monday, 14 June 2010 19:57

Following a physical game against Clarence on Saturday Team South were away at Clare Street against New Town Eagles. Being the final game of round two this was SHFC's opportunity to complete the round undefeated, and was an important game for the Eagles to increase the distance from ever improving Taroona and Olympia. The game in many respects belonged to the keeper's of each team, South's Sam Kuijver and  the Eagles Nathan Pitchford, both being excellent in demonstrating there trade. Surely both men would have to be the best keepers in the State.

Week 13 SHFC vs Clarence United
Saturday, 12 June 2010 17:59

South Hobart had a cracking game in the Premiers to win 5 1 but to be honest it was a tale of two halves. Clarence scored a great set piece in the early minutes of the game and holding Team South scoreless in the first half. With patience and skill, Team South soon returned to a strong passing game and goals soon fell our way.
